festival of sustainability

Continuing the hugely successful Festival of Sustainability series, The Clerkenwell Festival of Sustainability sees talks from the World Land Trust, GreenSpec and Orms Architects. The night is a must-visit for those involved in sustainable design.

Held at the Crypt on the Green in the heart of London's A&D district, the festival will help you to make sustainable specification choices, looking at how commercial interiors can respond to the growing need for solutions that work towards reducing environmental impact.

Through the landmark ’40 for 40’ programme, Parkside and Strata Tiles have formed a partnership with the World Land Trust (WLT). The festival will be a chance to hear how the charity is preserving precious natural habitats and creating carbon sinks that work towards stopping global climate change. Dan Bradbury, director of brand and communications, will provide another fascinating opportunity to learn about the WLT’s work and how ’40 for 40’ is protecting some of the world’s most threatened habitats.

Edited by practising architects and specifiers and independent of companies and trade bodies, GreenSpec provides a resource for green building materials and design guidance. GreenSpec’s founder Sandy Patience, will be on hand to explain the importance of designing more sustainable interiors and how the resource can guide you through.

Rachel Hoolahan is an architect and sustainability co-ordinator at Orms Architects and AJ’s Sustainability Champion 2021. Rachel will be taking to the stage to explain how the open-source material reuse methodology she has developed can help designers on projects.

We’ll be rounding off the evening with a lively panel Q&A, giving the opportunity to have your burning sustainability questions answered. The festival will round-off with a chance to carry on the conversation at the post-talk networking session.
