Leicester Design Season 2 – 2019

It’s a wrap!

We were proud partners of Leicester Design Season 2, which took place from 4th – 25th October. The programme was full of fantastic exhibitions and events covering topics such as design, architecture, fashion and graphics. Our first event was a tile making workshop that was run for the Creative Coffee monthly networking event, where local creatives gathered for a hands on ‘makers’ session. We thank everyone for the effort put in, the creations were all excellent!

Next up was our panel discussion on sustainability held at our Leicester Design Studio where we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with industry professionals (Millie Fullalove – Fullalove Fashion, Rob Farfort – Data Image and Dr Marta Gasparin – University of Leicester) about how the design community can have more of a positive impact on the environment.

Last but certainly not least was our installation at the LCB Depot with local ceramic artist Jo Keogh titled ‘The Diversity of Ceramics’ featuring a 2.8m tall tiled beacon and three unique ceramic pieces specially commissioned for Design Season. Watch this space for how you could get your hands on one of the ceramic pieces.

Overall we found it really worthwhile and enjoyable being part of Leicester Design Season and we think it’s a great platform for all creatives to be a part of. We look forward to next year!
