Clerkenwell Design Week 2024

Throughout this year's CDW, our Clerkenwell studio was alive for a programme of workshops, sustainable product launches, and the exclusive reveal of the Coco Lom x Parkside collection of 100% British-made terrazzo tiles.

With the launch of the Parkside x Coco Lom British-made terrazzo tile collection, launches in sustainable tile choices, a packed programme of terrazzo making workshops and the famous Lockley’s Cocktail Lounge; this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week was one to remember.

Check out the gallery below to see all the action

Coco Lom x Parkside Launch

Coco Lom was at the studio throughout CDW for the launch of Parkside x Coco Lom. This collection of 100% British terrazzo tiles in the Hackney-based artist’s signature abstract patterns will bring a unique look to any commercial interior and is made in Manchester.

People popped in throughout to catch Coco Lom's live mural painting, check out this exclusive collection and claim their free Parkside x Coco Lom merch.

Terrazzo Making Workshops

Throughout the week, we held terrazzo making workshops along with Ethical Stone, makers of the Coco Lom x Parkside collection. Workshoppers got the inside scoop on this exclusive collection and tried out its British sourced materials to create their very own terrazzo coaster.

The first batch of finished coasters are now landing in the studio, so get in touch to see if yours is ready for collection.

Sustainable Tile Releases

This year, the studio was also the first to showcase two newly released sustainable tiling products.

Alusid’s Dr Alasdair Bremner revealed how it’s achieved the lowest carbon emissions of any ceramic tile through production techniques, raw material sourcing and a deep dive into its carbon footprint.

Criaterra also explained how the in-situ performance of Criaterra v2 has been improved without disrupting its 100% natural and biodegradable composition and a manufacturing process that uses 90% less energy than normal ceramic tiles.

Lockley's Cocktail Lounge

Wrapping things up on Thursday, the institution that is Lockley’s Cocktail Lounge got you shaking your own, and celebrating the closing of Clerkenwell Design Week with the makers and creators of our special launches and projects that made this one of our most exciting Clerkenwell Design Weeks ever.
