The night of Wednesday 27th October we held a Festival of Sustainability with our sister brand Strata Tiles at the Barbican Centre.
Opened by Dan Little, chair of the Group Sustainability Council and newly appointed managing director for Parkside & Strata Tiles, our event launched the sustainability pledge, including a commitment to become net carbon neutral in 2022 and the 40 for 40 partnership with the World Land Trust.
With a focus on sustainability and how commercial interior specifications can contribute to stopping climate change; speakers included the World Land Trust, Greenspec, WRAP, Tudor Stonework, The Office Group, Make Architects, Woodalls, King Celia Studio and Criaterra.
With topics such as the preservation of important natural habitats, to city infrastructure, the impact of specification on climate change and creating interiors that are sustainable and better for wellbeing, it was an informative and varied programme that supported our ambitions to become leaders in sustainable tile specifications.
Attracting professionals from the architecture and design community, the Festival of Sustainability was over-subscribed, so we are already planning for another event in February at the Grade II Listed St James Church in Clerkenwell.
